She joined One Way in 1977 for three years and from 1980 she went solo, releasing four albums by 1984. She made a comeback with a fifth album in 2011.

A performer since childhood, R&B artist Alicia Myers won a talent contest in her native Detroit at the age of 10, when she and her brother Jackie dueted on a cover of Ashford & Simpson's "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing," a Motown classic popularized by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.
In 1981, frontwoman Alicia Myers left the band to pursue a solo career. She was replaced by Candyce Edwards, who served as female lead of the group from 1981 until 1985. Edwards' debut was on the Fancy Dancer album and she remained with the group throughout their major success.
