    LaTurner was the 40th Kansas treasurer. He was appointed to the position by Governor Sam Brownback (R) in April 2017. LaTurner was elected to a full term on November 6, 2018. At the time of his appointment, LaTurner was the youngest statewide official in the United States. LaTurner left office on January 2, 2021, to become representative of Kansas' 2nd Congressional District.
