Point State Park (locally known as The Point) is a Pennsylvania state park which is located on 36 acres (150,000 m 2) in Downtown Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA, at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, forming the Ohio River.
Point State Park commemorates the history of Fort Pitt, where the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers meet and form the Ohio River. The park features a fountain, monuments, a museum, and a block house, and is part of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail.
One of the park's iconic features is the large Point Fountain that sprays water over 150 feet into the air. Additional park amenities include the Great Lawn, a pedestrian bridge spanning a reflecting pool, river access, and 54,000 native plants. You’ll also find within the park the Fort Pitt Museum.
Visitors can stroll along ADA accessible paved promenades on the riverfront and to overlooks for dramatic views of Pittsburgh, its busy waterways, scenic hillsides, and many bridges. Natural landscaping and a 100-foot tall fountain enhance the beauty of this unique park at the “Forks of the Ohio.”. Numerous benches are throughout the park.
