Instead I'll recommend the Showtime series! Jeremy Irons is brilliant as the Borgia Pope, the script is brilliant, the actors are both much better at acting and generally more beautiful to look at. I've read a few of the reviews here, and I'm surprised at how many prefers this c**p over Showtime's.
Mar 28, 2011 · The Borgias: TV Review. The historical drama from Neil Jordan stars Jeremy Irons as a devious Spanish cardinal and patriarch of the Borgia family.
The first series focuses on the Borgia family's rise to prominence and the Popes children's gradual loss of innocence who grow into corrupt, murderous figures. The second series then follows Lucrezia's several love interest stories and the bitter sibling rivalry between Cesare and Juan.
