Nov 29, 2012 · I have an S50 on the floor of the garage right now for my 528e. The E30 M50/S50 swap guys can provide tons of useful info but us E28 guys have some unique issues to deal with. Most of this info comes from a variety of sources, none of which is verified by me: Intake manifold - M50/S50 manifold will clear the brake booster unlike in the E30.
Jun 4, 2011 · S50 is a better conversion but it is more expensive (the engine itself), and it is not easy to get all the last details right in either because the M50 /S50 motor uses the later generation of engine controls, harnesses, etc.

Jun 10, 2013 · E28 M5 mounts are commonly used in e30's with DOHC M50 engine swaps; E28 will fit a DOHC M50 family engine with more clearance than an E30; a e28 is designed by BMW to take a big 6. OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25.
