Chyhyryn ( Ukrainian: Чигирин, pronounced [tʃɪɦɪˈrɪn]; Polish: Czehryń, pronounced [ˈt͡ʂɛ.xrɨɲ]) is a city in Cherkasy Raion, Cherkasy Oblast, central Ukraine. It is located on Tiasmyn river not far where it enters Dnieper . From 1648 to 1669, the city served as the residence of the hetman of the Zaporizhian Host.
Chyhyryn City is located more or less in the center of Ukraine, in Cherkasy Oblast. Its current population is around 11,000. It is similar in many ways to Sebastopol – it has its own police and fire department, several restaurants, parks, a medical clinic, a small university, two museums, and three K-12 schools.

Chyhyryn is a city and historic site located in Cherkasy Raion of Cherkasy Oblast of central Ukraine. From 1648 to 1669 the city was a Hetman residence. After a forced relocation of the Ruthenian Orthodox metropolitan see from Kyiv in 1658, it became a full-fledged capital of the Cossack Hetmanate.
