"Star Wars is crazy. Even the audition process was crazy. They had an app for you to get the [scripts] and stuff like that, then they'll drive you to learn your lines there."
―Tosin Cole
Tosin Cole (born July 23, 1992) is an English actor who portrayed Lieutenant Bastian in Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens. He is best known for starring as Ryan Sinclair in the eleventh and twelfth series of the long-running science fiction television show Doctor Who, and for his roles as Neil Cooper on the soap opera Hollyoaks and Sol Levi on the Internet soap opera EastEnders: E20.
Cole auditioned for the role as Lieutenant Bastian. During the shooting, he had to download a special app to get access to the script and had to learn his lines then and there, due to the secrecy of the production. He was also not allowed to take any script with him off-set.

Oh, Star Wars is crazy. Even the audition process was crazy. They had an app for you to get the [scripts] and stuff like that, then they'll drive you to learn your lines there. So is Doctor Who more laid back? I don't know - it's kind of similar, but they take the secrecy crazy seriously [on Star Wars]. I've never had to download an app for anything over here. Or have read scripts that you have to leave with them. It's a bit crazy." (archived from the original on April 11, 2022)
