A surprisingly good little thriller, 16 BLOCKS provides a tight, minimalist script, fine directing, excellent camera work, and standout performances by Bruce Willis, Mos Def, and David Morse. It is enough of a twist on the usual cop chase films to make it fresh, exciting, intelligent and touching.
