The Donbas (UK: / d ɒ n ˈ b ɑː s /, US: / ˈ d ɒ n b ɑː s, d ʌ n ˈ b æ s /; Ukrainian: Донба́с;) or Donbass (Russian: Донба́сс) is a historical, cultural, and economic region in eastern Ukraine. Parts of the Donbas are occupied by Russia as a result of the Russo-Ukrainian War.
