The first season of the American TV drama Homeland follows CIA officer Carrie Mathison, who suspects a rescued Marine sergeant Nicholas Brody is a sleeper agent for al-Qaeda. The season received critical acclaim and won several awards, including Golden Globe and Emmy.

Nicholas Brody, a U.S. Marine Sergeant who had been reported as missing in action since 2003, is rescued from a compound belonging to terrorist Abu Nazir.
