Jessica Chastain. Actress: Zero Dark Thirty. Jessica Michelle Chastain was born in Sacramento, California, and was raised in a middle-class household in a Northern California suburb. Her mother, Jerri Chastain, is a vegan chef whose family is originally from Kansas, and her stepfather is a fireman.
Chastain went on to play strong-willed titular protagonists in the political thriller Miss Sloane (2016), the historical drama The Zookeeper's Wife (2017), and the crime film Molly's Game (2017). In 2019, Chastain played the adult Beverly Marsh in the horror sequel It Chapter Two.
She went on to portray Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021), winning the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). On Broadway, Chastain has starred in revivals of The Heiress (2012) and A Doll's House (2023).
