Apr 9, 2024 · NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang and his wife, Lori Huang, donated $50 million to their alma mater Oregon State University — where they met and earned engineering degrees — to help build one of the world’s fastest supercomputers in a facility bearing their names.

Huang has said the highlight of his time at Oregon State was meeting Lori, when they were paired as lab partners in an electrical fundamentals class.

The $200 million complex — including a $50 million gift to the OSU Foundation from NVIDIA founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang and his spouse, Lori — will increase OSU’s support for the semiconductor and technology industry in Oregon and beyond when it opens in 2026. The Huangs are OSU College of Engineering graduates.
