Max von Sydow (April 10, 1929 — March 8, 2020) was a Swedish–French actor who starred in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens as Lor San Tekka. He was previously involved in a Lucasfilm production when he played Sigmund Freud in an episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.
In 1968's Hour of the Wolf ( Vargtimmen ), Sydow played an artist living on an isolated island with his pregnant wife, played by Ullmann. [23] In the same year, the two appeared in the drama Shame ( Skammen ), about a couple (both former musicians) living on a farm on an island during a war. [3]
