Due to the occasional underrated/overrated discussion popping up, I tried to find out which would be the most well-known power metal bands based on how many times their most popular song got streamed on Spotify.
Nightwish are my favorite group of all times and i love power metal; yet i would hardly label them as such. They are symphonic metal to me, as much as groups like Xandria, Sirenia or Within Temptation.
Surprised that so many people have listed what I'd consider filler bands. One or two songs will go on a playlist and not be out of place, but I'd never think "this band/album" is what I want to hear today.

Spot #5 could be filled by Stratovarius, Helloween, Edguy, Avantasia, Symphony X or Hammerfall. This all depends on the day/time/the trajectory of the sun and the moon. Can't really decide on absolute favorites, so here are my top 5 in no particular order: Heavenly and Fairyland and two of my favorites too.
