Jun 4, 2014 · Daniel L. Cady, a locally-raised scholar, attorney and poet was once known far and wide for his "sentimental dialect verse" of life in rural Vermont. Cady published a four book series entitled "Rhymes of Vermont Rural Life" that were released between 1919 and 1934 and caused him to be named "The Unique Poet" of New England.
Cady's most critically acclaimed series was his "Rhymes of Vermont Rural Life," in four volumes, published between 1919 and 1934, in which he wrote of the climate, habits, scenery and everyday routines as he remembered them. By the late 1920’s and early 30’s, Cady’s ailing health would be marked by the building of his mausoleum.

An epitaph in Latin inside the tomb reads: “His poems breathed the spirit of New England.”(7) On April Fool’s Day, 1934, Daniel L. Cady died and was buried where everyone could see him.

Aug 20, 2023 · If you’ve never visited the Cady Mausoleum, located on the hill above the school off Strawberry Hill and the snowmobile trail, this is your opportunity. Using a poetic map developed by the students of Albert Bridge School, participants can hike up the trail to the mausoleum while others drive up the hill and take the short walk to the structure.
