    Drakesbad Guest Ranch was effected by the 2021 Dixie Fireand will remain closed for repairs for the 2022 season. Most structures remain intact, however two bungalow units, the annex, and the water plant were destroyed.

    This rustic guest ranch offers a secluded getaway with no cell service or Internet access. The lodge has electricity, but there are no outlets in rooms. Some of the bungalows do not have electricity; kerosene lamps are provided for lighting.

Over the next 60 years, the Sifford family dedicated their efforts to creating Drakesbad Guest Ranch as a place for people to visit and enjoy. The Siffords, Alexander, Ida, and children Roy and Pearl, entrusted their legacy to the National Park Service in 1960.

  7. The Sifford family continued to run their beloved Guest Ranch as good neighbors of the Park Service each summer for forty-two years. To preserve the Ranch and guarantee continued quality service for generations to come, Drakesbad was sold to the US government in 1958 for inclusion in to Lassen Volcanic National Park.
