Nov 13, 2020 · Italian designer and architect Filippo Brunelleschi (1377-1446) is considered to be one of the most influential artists of the Renaissance. He’s sometimes referred to as the founding father of Renaissance architecture and was a renowned Renaissance sculptor as well.
Perhaps his most far-reaching accomplishment was his formulation of the system of linear perspective to depict three-dimensional space. Brunelleschi's system quickly went on to become the standard method of representation throughout European art up to the present.
He is most famous for designing the dome of the Florence Cathedral, and for the mathematical technique of linear perspective in art which governed pictorial depictions of space until the late 19th century and influenced the rise of modern science.
