Mar 22, 2024 · Judas failed to understand who Jesus really was, even to the end. The Holy Spirit gave insight to Peter about the true nature of Jesus. On the night of Jesus’ trials, Judas betrayed, but Peter denied. By comparing these two men, a picture is painted of two types of sinners, those who come to Jesus and those who do not.
Both Judas and Peter were filled with remorse for what they had done. But after their sins, they had very different responses. Judas hanged himself, while Peter, along with the other apostles, boldly helped establish the New Testament Church. Peter clearly had the response to sin God desired.
The path of sin –. Judas – Willful and Premeditated. Luke 22:4-6 – He [Judas] went away and conferred with the chief priests and officers how he might betray him to them. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money. So he consented and sought an opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of a crowd.
