Community fish hatcheries contribute to fisheries management objectives, biodiversity conservation goals and increased recreational angling opportunities across Ontario.
We operate 23 hatcheries and spawning channels and support Indigenous and community–based hatcheries through our Community Economic Development and Public Involvement Programs. These enhancement efforts are coordinated to support the conservation, rebuilding and management of salmon stocks in rivers and streams throughout BC and the Yukon.
