Established in 1985 in IL - In 1984, four women leaders in the Chicago philanthropic community with a shared vision (Marjorie Craig Benton, Sunny Fischer, Iris J. Krieg and Lucia Woods Lindley) brought together a number of collaborators into planning groups that laid the financial and programmatic groundwork for Chicago Foundation for Women.
Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) is a community foundation working to advance gender equity, which is inherently interconnected with racial justice, economic justice, and health equity. CFW invests in women and girls as catalysts, building strong communities for all.
Chicago Foundation for Women (CFW) is a nonprofit grantmaking organization that focuses on creating opportunities and resources for women in the Chicago area. Many Chicago based organizations such as South Side Giving Circle and LBTQ Giving Council further help women that face violence, poverty, and discrimination using the resources from CFW. [2]
