McCloud is an American police drama television series created by Herman Miller, that aired on NBC from September 16, 1970, to April 17, 1977. The series starred Dennis Weaver, and for six of its seven years as part of the NBC Mystery Movie rotating wheel series that was produced for the network by Universal Television.

McCloud welcomes several of his New Mexico cowboy buddies to Madison Square Garden for a rodeo, but winds up in a murder investigation when a young cowboy is slain and the most unpopular man in the West takes it on the lam -- even though he didn't do it.
When McCloud and Clifford wind up together at a police convention in Hawaii, Clifford is framed for murder. With the help of Clifford's ex-fiancee, several of Clifford's cop friends who are also at the convention, and a Honolulu police detective, McCloud must find out who framed him and why.

Paroled bank robbers from New Mexico think McCloud took off with their $400,000 twelve years before. They kidnap Chris Coughlin, shoot two FBI agents with McCloud's .45 Colt Frontier Six Shooter, and force him back to Taos after the money.
