Dec 19, 2004 · In the cellars of the Paris Opera House lives a disfigured masked man who becomes obsessed with the young singer Christine. He commands the management to give her leading roles, and when they refuse, he exacts a terrible revenge, causing a great chandelier to crash down on the audience.
Chaney was known for his starring roles in such silent horror films as The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923) and The Phantom of the Opera (1925). His ability to transform himself using makeup techniques that he developed earned him the nickname " The Man of a Thousand Faces ".
A mysterious figure cloaked in red and with a skull head, marches into the proceedings and denounces the partygoers. On the rooftop of the opera house, Raoul and Christine reaffirm their love, and Christine tells Raoul everything about the Phantom.
