Knowles was a member of the Austin Film Critics Association until he was removed in September 2017 "by a substantial majority vote" of the organization following allegations of sexual assault.

A lot of the reviews these days seem to be 3 to 5 or more paragraphs about the writers themselves before even going into the movie. Talking about the drive to the theater, what kinda day they were having, stories from their childhood, which sometimes works in favor of the review but recently it's just come off very very self indulgent.
