Most people automatically think they need to grab the super glue, epoxy or hot glue, but the best glue to use on plaster or ceramics is plain-old, white school glue. It seeps into the pores on the plaster and ceramics and rebuilds the bond between the broken pieces.

Dec 18, 2015 · Use cold water only. Warm water will cause the plaster to set faster. Always add plaster to the water, never water to the plaster. Let the plaster set for 1-2 minutes before mixing so it has a chance to settle and unclump. (I mix the glue and paint while I’m waiting.)

If it’s a large mould, make sure you have plenty of plaster mixed up so you can work quickly and fill the relief before the plaster starts to set. The plaster will take anywhere between 3 hours and 3 days to fully cure, but it’s typically dry enough to remove from the mould in 30min-1hr.
