If you witness an animal being abused or an animal attack in progress, please call 911. If you are concerned about an animal being neglected or suspect abuse, please call 311 or access the Customer Service Request Online.
Call the police Emergency Communications Center at 301-279-8000 to report animal-related issues and complaints: A sick or injured animal or one that appears abandoned. A stray animal. An animal neglect situation. An animal in a trap issued by Montgomery County.
The Norfolk Animal Protection Unit has been protecting the people and animals of the city since 1960 and responds to several thousand calls for service each year. If you would like to report a complaint, please call: Norfolk Police Non-Emergency number (757) 441-5610.
