David Thomas (b. September 10, 1949) is a former Republican member of the South Carolina State Senate representing the 8th District from 1984 to 2012. Biography. Thomas was on the Greenville City Council from 1979 to 1984. He was Mayor Pro Temp from 1983 to 1984.
David Thomas was born in Seneca, South Carolina. He is the son of a Baptist minister, Harry Lee Thomas. His mother was Mary Brown Thomas. Commissioner Thomas was nominated to the DDSN Board by Governor Henry McMaster. Thomas was a former State Senator having served for 28 years in the State Senate.
