Aldo, like Mario, was a promising racer. However, in 1959, he got into a crash and fractured his skull, which put him in a coma. He soon recovered and was racing again. In 1969, he again suffered serious damage in another crash. In Des Moines, he crashed into a fence after which he stopped racing.
