Never Let Go (also known as Moment of Truth) is a 1960 British thriller film directed by John Guillermin and starring Richard Todd, Peter Sellers and Elizabeth Sellars. It concerns a man's attempt to recover his stolen car.
John Cummings (Richard Todd), a colourless cosmetics salesman, buys a car to increase his business. But a gang controlled by vain, flashy and two-timing garage owner Lionel Meadows (Peter Sellers, cast against type as the leader of a stolen car racket), pinches it.
John Cummings, an unsuccessful cosmetics salesman, has his unpaid-for car stolen by one of the hoods in the employ of Lionel Meadows, the sadistic organizer of a London car conversion racket.
Guillermin evokes a gritty desperation in all the characters, such as dim-witted, depressed newspaper salesman Alfie (Mervyn Johns), who exists alone in a trashy, dilapidated apartment, and Jackie (Carol White), the teen-aged runaway whose role alternates between Meadows’s mistress and Tommy’s girl.
