Synthetic organic chemistry: our work is based on the development of new synthetic methods, and on the total synthesis of bioactive molecules. We are particularly interested in complexity-inducing reactions such as cascade or sequenced processes, where several chemical steps take place in a single reaction process, and the application of these reac...

My wife Emma is a lecturer in virology at Warwick University. We have recently had a baby boy called Owen!

Outside of chemistry, I enjoy running, cycling, swimming, hiking and gardening – although I don’t have as much time for all of these as I used to!

  5. Edward Alexander Anderson, known as Ed Anderson, is an organic chemist based at the University of Oxford. In 2016, the university awarded him the title of Professor of Organic Chemistry.

  6. In 2022, I graduated with First Class honours in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, and shortly after, I rejoined the University of Oxford as an SBM CDT DPhil student. In January 2023, I began working in the Gouverneur group on novel carbonyl protecting groups as a part of the SBM CDT DPhil course.
