Due to unsafe conditions caused by last night's weather, all MMSD schools will be closed today, Wednesday, May 22, 2024. School will not be in session. Early childhood and 4K programming is canceled. This will be a “traditional” no-school day, not an “at home” learning day.

As of the 2020-2021 school year, the district serves 26,121 students, making it the second largest in Wisconsin. It has 52 schools, including 32 elementary schools (grades K-5), 12 middle schools (grades 6–8), and 6 high schools. The district also has early childhood programs and alternative programs at the secondary level.
Online enrollment is currently available for the 2023-24 school year. Families completing the application for students continuing within MMSD will be able to complete the enrollment process fully online.
