Halifax is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale, in West Yorkshire, England. It is near the east Pennine foothills. In the 15th century, the town became an economic hub of the old West Riding of Yorkshire, primarily in woollen manufacture with the large Piece Hall square later built for trading wool in the town centre.

Halifax is a historic market town in West Yorkshire, England, UK. The town’s name comes from the Old English words “halh” meaning “nook” or “remote valley” and “fax” meaning “fjord” or “stream”. Halifax is known for its role in the Industrial Revolution, particularly in the textile industry.

- Shibden Park. This picturesque, rambling landscape in the Shibden Valley harks back to the time of Anne Lister in the early 19th century. Since 1850, the flowerbeds on the terrace fronting the house have been designed like the pattern on a Paisley Shawl.
- Eureka! The National Children’s Museum. Geared towards children up to the age of 11, Eureka! is a hands-on museum with more than 400 interactive exhibits in six different zones.
