R-Type Final 2 is a horizontal-scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Granzella. Part of Irem's long-running R-Type series, it is a sequel to R-Type Final released in 2004, and the first R-Type game in over a decade, after the release of R-Type Tactics II: Operation Bitter Chocolate in 2009.
The objectives of the current mission, R-TYPE FINAL 2, are to compile the military history of the war between humanity and the Bydo, and to pass down the know-how for anti-Bydo weapon development. Yet unpublished military records and war memories are required over the course of this compilation.
The OFX-X Mariko and B-99 Apocalypse are additional ships that each bring new weapons, and can be customized using any weapon from their "family" of ships. In addition to the ships they each include a free bundle of ship-development resources you can grab from the in-game shop, and unique pilot cosmetics.
