Bubo, in Greek Mythology, was a clockwork replica of Athena's beloved magical owl of the same name. Bubo was forged by Hephaestus and sent by Athena to aid Perseus in his quest to save the princess Andromeda in the original 1981 film.
Zeus commands Athena to give Perseus her owl Bubo, but she refuses. Instead, she orders Hephaestus to build a mechanical replica that leads Perseus, Andromeda, Ammon, Thallo, and some soldiers to the Stygian Witches.

Bubo was an artificial creature, a construct of the gods, which appeared in the 1981 mythological fantasy film Clash of the Titans. It was animated using mostly stop-motion techniques by visual effects legend Ray Harryhausen.

Clash of the Titans is a 2010 action fantasy film and remake of the 1981 film of the same name produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (the rights to which had been acquired by Warner Bros. in 1996 through its purchase of Turner).
