    • Altstadt. Unlike many of Europe’s showcase cities, Munich’s Altstadt (Old Town) happily remains full of everyday life, despite a heavy tourist presence – locals still come here to shop, eat, and drink.
    • North of Altstadt: Maxvorstadt & Kunstareal. There are so many museums in Maxvorstadt that for culture-hawks, it’s worth staying nearby so you can walk to them all.
    • North of Altstadt: Schwabing & Englischer Garten.
