Nov 6, 2019 · In 1270 CE, Abaqa defeated Baraq, ruler of the Chagatai Khanate (r. 1266-1271 CE), at the battle of Herat. More success came in 1273 CE when Abaqa sacked the city of Bukhara, then part of the Chagatai Khanate.

Dec 15, 2006 · In 1298 Ḡāzān revisited Baghdad and engaged in works of public utility. He ordered a canal to be dug upstream of Ḥella, and named it Nahr Ḡāzāni. He also ordered fiscal reforms, including the stabilization of the weight of gold and silver coins.
