Feb 20, 2018 · According to the last will and testament of Henry VIII, with Mary Grey’s death in 1578, Elizabeth’s heir was Margaret Stanley, daughter of Eleanor Brandon. The fragmentary evidence indicates that Eleanor’s daughter was ambitious and aspired to be Queen of England after the death of Queen Elizabeth.
Eleanor was the younger daughter of Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk, and his wife Mary, known as the French Queen because of her previous marriage to Louis XII. Eleanor was born sometime between 1518 and 1521.

Her maternal grandparents were King Henry VII of England and Elizabeth of York. She was the sister of Lady Frances Brandon therefore she was the aunt of Lady Jane Grey.
