During her tenure, she developed the sitcoms Happy Days, Mork & Mindy and Soap. [3] In 1980, she left ABC and in 1982 started Carsey Productions, an independent production company. She was joined in this venture a year later by Tom Werner who had worked with her at ABC.
To be worthy of its airtime was the goal for every show developed by Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner, a philosophy that began with their collaboration in the early 1970s as programming executives at ABC, shepherding such shows as Happy Days, Barney Miller, Mork and Mindy, Taxi, Dynasty and Soap.
