"James and his wife Em have escaped the city for an all-inclusive vacation at a tropical resort. Despite having come to the island of Li Tolqa to cure his writer’s block, James finds himself more uninspired than ever until he meets fellow tourists, Gabi and Alban.
Jul 18, 2024 · As his victim's 13-year-old son stabbed him, "James" began begging Em for help. At the same time, she notices a complete lack of empathy in James sitting next to her. This lack of empathy is what eventually drives James to join horror actress Mia Goth's Gabi and the others, as the Infinity Pool movie explained.
"Infinity Pool" is a confident but cold movie. It reminds me quite a bit of the cult-group/occult horror movies that were made circa 1969-1974. The film uses quite a bit of arthouse-style flash imagery (the hues are different, but I was reminded of Norm Li's work in Panos Cosmatos' films).
