Kmart Australia Limited (/ˈkeɪmɑːrt/ KAY-mart, doing business as Kmart, Kmart Australia, Kmart New Zealand and Kmart Australia And New Zealand and stylised as Kmart) is an Australian chain of retail department stores owned by the Kmart Group division of Wesfarmers.
While Woolworth’s just has the same name, Kmart Australia was a joint venture with the owners of the American company (who were majority stakeholders). Target Australia (now owned by the same company as Kmart) is unrelated to the American company, but does license the branding.
