  1. Funcoland was bought by gamestop years ago (over a decade now?) and they aren't allowed to change the sign at that location. Last time I was in there (also years ago) all of the employees were wearing gamestop shirts and pushing gamestop cards just like any other gamestop.

  2. Oct 29, 2014 · I remember Ocarina of Time being $80 at launch, for some reason. The only price I could find was this FuncoLand ad, though, which lists $59.95. I’m still looking to see if I can find an official MSRP. It’s possible FuncoLand was trying to severely undercut the competition with this price.

  6. I used to love FuncoLand as a kid.. then it changed to GameStop and I was floored.. Still had Babbages and EB Games for a while, and Software ETC. They're all merged together and failing because console makers finally figured out how to destroy the used game resale market that sapped a bit of money out of their pockets.

  7. Thank you for posting this! I loved those papers. I always grabbed one on my way out of Funcoland. My older brother got us a new NES after the first one broke down, after we got our SNES. I was so happy to be able to play the classic Mega Man and Castlevania games that were stuck in my head since I was a toddler
