Because the installer is the archived file that was hosted on Microsoft's website, it's safe to download.
Feb 24, 2018 · enjoy! First, there is no "2.7 XP version". I think you are referring to the Windows Vista version of Windows Movie Maker 2.6 that is basically a CPU-only version using the XP code for those on Vista that didn't have a powerful enough GPU.
Feb 13, 2009 · If you also feel the same and want to get the good old Movie Maker with all the required features, then here is a good news for you. Microsoft has released Movie Maker 2.6 for Windows Vista which also works in later Windows versions.
