The African Development Fund (ADF) is the concessional window of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group. Established in 1972, it became operational in 1974. Administered by the African Development Bank, it comprises, to date, 32 contributing countries and benefits 37 countries.
Depending on country classification, ADF currently provides loans, grants, and guarantees to 37 ADF eligible countries. Out of these 37 countries, 13 receive only grants; 19 receive concessional loans and grants and 5 are eligible for both ADF and ADB resources (blend).
