Fright Night Part II begins three years after the hellish events in the original Fright Night. Charley (William Ragsdale) is attending college and now believes that Jerry Dandridge (Chris Sarandon), was nothing but a serial killer posing as a vampire.
After the critical and financial success of Fright Night, producer Herb Jaffe retained the screen rights to the characters and pushed for a sequel to be made. The resulting film, Fright Night Part 2, was released in December 1988.
