Based on the 1967 Oscar winner about a small southern town and its bombastic sheriff, who accepts the help of a black detective on a murder case. In this two part opener of season 2 a copycat of a most grisly murder takes place in Sparta. In the one in the 60s a young girl was found stabbed to death, hanging on a tree in the woods with her heart cut from her body.
