Anthony Lawrence was born on 12 May 1928 in Hollywood, California, USA. He is a writer and producer, known for Roustabout (1964), Hawaii Five-O (1968) and The Sixth Sense (1972).
An important figure in contemporary Australian poetry, Lawrence has received numerous grants, awards and prizes, is widely read and anthologized, with 12 collections of poetry. Besides poetry he has written a novel, In the Half Light (Picador, 2000).
