The Needham Public Schools offer the most public school athletic opportunities in the State. Needham competes in the MIAA Division 1 State Tournament for most sports. Select sports such as Ski, Squash, Ultimate Frisbee and Rugby compete in different tournaments.
Needham High School is situated on a hill overlooking Memorial Park, and is located at approximately the geographical center of town. The original building was dedicated in 1930. As a result of the town's rapid growth following World War II , additions were opened in 1955 and in 1967.
