Little Rock Central High School (LRCH) is an accredited comprehensive public high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. The school was the site of the Little Rock Crisis in 1957 after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that segregation by race in public schools was unconstitutional three years earlier.
Little Rock Central High is a school rich with history, academic excellence and diversity. The structure, built in 1927, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places and is also designated by the National Park Service as a National Historic Landmark.
Little Rock Central High School was completed in 1927 and originally was called Little Rock High School. It cost $1.5 million to build, and The New York Times declared during its construction that it was the most expensive school building ever constructed in the United States.
