William Orville DeWitt Jr. (born August 31, 1941) is an American businessman who is currently the managing partner and chairman of the St. Louis Cardinals, a professional baseball franchise which competes in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Bill DeWitt Jr. has served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Cardinals since 1996, when he led the purchase of the team from Anheuser Busch, and he and his immediate family acquired controlling interest in the team.
His son William DeWitt Jr. is currently the principal owner and managing partner of the St. Louis Cardinals, while grandson William III is the Cardinals' president.
