hagstromguitars.com. Hagström ( Swedish pronunciation: [ˈhɑ̌ːɡstrœm]) [citation needed] is a musical instrument manufacturer in Älvdalen, Dalecarlia, Sweden. Their original products were accordions that they initially imported from Germany and then Italy before opening their own facility in 1932.
Hagström. This is Älvdalen, Sweden. Älvdalen, the home of the famous Hagström guitar, is situated in Dalecarlia in the middle of Sweden. Älvdalen is also the home of the Hagström museum. The museum has a permanent exhibition about the company AB Albin Hagström.
In the 1960s, Hagström built approximately 7,000 guitars a year, of which 90 per cent were exported – primarily to the USA. 1966 was a peak year for Hagstrom during that era when sales reached 16,660 for electric guitars and 5,800 for electric basses and lead time for delivery exceeded one year. Hagstrom has gone the extra mile and wound quality-sounding pickups that would suit this guitar. The Swede also features a high-grade polyester finish, which is smoother and denser, producing a better sonic performance than some polyurethane finishes do. But I wish that the top coat was sprayed a bit thinner.
