William Scott "Jack" Elam (November 13, 1920 – October 20, 2003) was an American film and television actor best known for his numerous roles as villains in Western films and, later in his career, comedies (sometimes spoofing his villainous image).

Jul 25, 2018 · Elam was born in Arizona and lost his mother when he was just two years old. According to her death certificate, the cause of death was paralysis. The acclaimed actor lost sight in his left eye at the age of 12 after he was accidentally stabbed with a pencil.
